Starting at Commonwealth Strategy Group and visiting the General Assembly Building
118 N. 8th St., Richmond
What happens in Richmond affects all of Virginia.
Virginia elected 17 new legislators in November 2025. That means a steep learning curve for many on the nuances of emergency medicine and health system challenges. That’s where VACEP’s advocacy becomes critical: ensuring emergency physicians remain a strong, informed voice in Richmond.
When we meet with lawmakers, we’ll make sure they understand our issues and support legislation that lifts up emergency medicine and stop harmful bills that negatively impact patient care. Your ability to practice quality medicine, how you are reimbursed, and scope of practice are just a few of the ways the decisions made in Richmond trickle into our EDs — for better or worse. Join us!
