Annual Meeting Notice

VACEP’s 2008 Annual Membership Meeting will be held February 26th in Richmond at the Commonwealth Park Suites Hotel.

If you’ve never attended a membership meeting, I urge you to come this year! You will be proud to be a member of our community

of empowered emergency physicians and this incredible organization that works tirelessly on your behalf.

The meeting agenda is impressive!. We have legislative briefings and visits planned, special guests, and wrap up the day with our annual Legislative Reception to which your Virginia Senate and Delegate members are invited. We expect many pieces of legislation to be introduced in the 2008 Session of the Virginia General Assembly – some beneficial to our practices, and some not. Our mission is to promote and protect the interests of emergency physicians and the patients they serve, so your participation is important. Mark your calendar and plan to join us! Approved for 7.5 hours CME credit

During January, voting members had the opportunity to help shape the future of our organization by electing

five Board of Directors, and three Councillors and Alternates that will represent Virginia to national ACEP. Last year our Bylaws

were amended to allow all eligible members to participate in these elections by mail or electronically vs. only those attedning the

Annual Meeting, and we are very pleased with your response to this opportunity!

• Attached is the list of candidates for these positions. Voting members were provided validated ballots to return via mail or fax, or vote online. Ballots had to be cast by January 28 to be counted; eligible members may only vote once - validated paper ballots returned supersede ballots cast online.
