Virginia Heart Attack Coalition (VHAC)

Mission: Lifeline is the AHA's campaign to improve STEMI systems of care.  In order to implement these guidelines and improve STEMI outcomes throughout the Commonwealth, the Virginia Heart Attack Coalition was formed.  This new group spans multiple disciplines across the STEMI continuum and presents a unique opportunity to greatly reduce morbidity and mortality among our fellow citizens.  VHAC held a summit in Richmond on May 16, 2009 to help launch Mission: Lifeline, and to identify key stakeholders and existing STEMI systems to register with Mission: Lifeline.

Since it's inception, VACEP supports activities of the VHAC and is currently represented on the VHAC Task Force by Robert E. Fines, MD, FACEP of Fredericksburg. Appointed in May 2009, he states "Improving STEMI care has been a passion of mine, so I look forward to giving this endeavor my full support."
